The positions within group require a high degree of autonomy and ability to work across disciplines. Suggest that a general competence for all SCC positions should be a self-starter with strong inter-personal relationship building skills.
The role is about assisting the business implement CCPS Framework, so all positions should have a strong understanding of CCPS Framework and/or Barrier Based Risk Management (Bow tie or LOPA).
Believe we have a role in training the business so strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills would be a bonus.
Similar to the Development role this profile would be some-one who can assist in developing processes. The background for this person should ideally be more Management Systems orientated and should have good skills at reviewing Project Requirements in order to develop execution plans. This person should be good at reviewing technical documents and management plans in order to identify deficiencies in process, assumptions, and / or conclusions. The role should be for someone with experience in actually developing Safety Cases for review and approval by a competent authority (eg Australian or UK experience). They should be degree educated, but not necessarily in engineering.
As part of the Process Safety Team, interface with Stake Holders to assist in implementing actions to implement the CCPS risk Based Process Safety Framework into our corporate Management System.
Use our corporate (Functional level) bow ties to assist units to develop specific (barrier system) bow ties for their facility. We have the guidance for this based on the 2018 CCPS and EI Best Practice process.
Train front line staff on barrier based risk management;
Review existing processes relating to HAZOP and Process Safety Risk Analysis and engage with stakeholders to update.
Review how Quantitative and Qualitative Formal risk Assessments are used in Operational Decision Making. Liaise with stakeholders to increase the consistency and value of these studies;
As part of the Process Safety Team, develop our Process Safety Risk Assurance Process aligned to barrier based risk management.
The Safety Case Coordinator should be some-one with a project or consultancy background and experienced in facilitating HAZIDs, Bow tie reviews, HAZOPs and/or LOPA. Experience in developing Procedures and Terms of Reference for these reviews is also required. This person should be good at reviewing technical documents and management plans in order to identify deficiencies in process, assumptions, and / or conclusions. They would preferably be someone with experience in actually developing Safety Cases for review and approval by a competent authority (eg Australian or UK experience), or for a client that submits to these regimes. They should be degree educated. Preferably, but not necessarily, in engineering.
